Historically, color was used as a healing tool in ancient Egypt, Greece, and India. In China color therapy formed a part of early medical science. Classic philosophers, such as Pythagoras, Hypocrites, Plato, and Aristotle, all tried to explain the mysteries of color. Modern science has shed new light on the subject. Light is our most important energy source, and is the source of the entire spectrum of color. Each color in the spectrum has its own wavelength and frequency, producing a specific energy and nutritive effect.
Symbols
Throughout history symbols have appeared in many cultures. These have included the Indian Tattvas, Trigrams of the Chinese I Ching, the Jewish Kabbalah, medieval Tarot Cards, and astrological Zodiac Signs. Symbols evolved from experience, vision, and religion. The symbols on the crowns of the Crystal Essence Aromatherapy Necklace pendants were designed by Richard Pathman, in collaboration with Israeli artist Laura Werbin. This system of lines and dots emerged after studying symbols from a variety of cultures and civilizations, old and new. These symbols are designed to evoke the spirit of the various sensations.
Crystal
For centuries Man has revered crystals for their beauty as well as healing properties. The shape of our Crystal Essence pendant has been modeled after the double-terminated crystal, which has a point at each end. This type of crystal grows in clay rather than out of a rock surface, which allows it to form the two points. The double-terminated crystal is traditionally used as a tool for balancing energy. The shape is believed to symbolize the balance of spirit and matter, and teach us that all opposites or apparent conflicts can come together in the center.
